Tor Y Foel The Tough Way!

JustGiving - Sponsor me now!

The final training day has arrived next time we will be pulling on our walking boots is when we are heading to the airport to fly to Morocco, yes we travel in our boots just in case of lost luggage! After that the next time we will be pulling on our hiking boots will be on the High Atlas Mountains.

Today we took it steady and did a short walk up Tor y Foel, much like we did back in March, but this time we did it in reverse as it is a bit harder this way.

The hike was 15.9km with an ascent of 814m which took us 3hrs 33mins.

Classic Brecon Horseshoe

JustGiving - Sponsor me now!

Today we did the classic Brecon Horseshoe but with a twist namely Fan Y Big! We started at Upper Neadd Reservoir, headed up to Twyn Mwyalchod before heading to Corn Du, Pen Y Fan and Cribyn. After descending from Cribyn to Bwlch Ar Y Fan the Horseshoe route normally heads back to the car park via the bridleway, but we decided that we had another peak in us so we headed up Fan Y Big before finding an alternative route down.

In total we hiked 14.2km with a total ascent of 811m which took us 4hrs 9mins.
